A naturally buffered form of Vitamin C, Sodium Ascorbate is said by the Linus Pauling Institute to have more bio-availability than normal ascorbic acid. However, because sodium ascorbate contains 889 mg of Vitamin C and 111 mg of sodium per 1000 mg of sodium ascorbate, it should not be used by those required to be on a low sodium diet and calcium ascorbate should be used instead. Suitable for use as a supplement and in some anti-corrosion industrial formulations.
