Not really.
It frankly makes about as much sense as saying, "Everyone we interviewed who had received knee replacements had spoken to their doctors about knee joint pain. Since the common factor here is "doctor," We TLBS therefore conclude that if you avoid seeing a doctor it will reduce your likelihood of knee replacement surgery."
It does make sense to me that people with enough pain to consider surgery will first try almost anything for relief. And then they will again try almost anything to avoid surgery. It therefore makes sense to me that people with that much pain and damage have probably tried G-C, not that G-C is necessarily causative as you clearly state. I believe that this is Kerry's point as well.
